How to Use PokeNext

Welcome to your ultimate Pokemon exploration guide!

Getting Started

PokeNext is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. Whether you're a seasoned Pokemon trainer or just starting your journey, you'll find everything you need to explore the world of Pokemon.

Browsing the Pokedex

The main Pokedex page displays all Pokemon in a beautiful grid layout. Each card shows:

  • Pokemon Image: Official artwork from the Pokemon games
  • Pokemon Name: The official name of the Pokemon
  • Pokedex Number: The Pokemon's unique ID number
  • Types: Badges showing the Pokemon's type(s)

Click on any Pokemon card to view detailed information including stats, abilities, height, and weight.

Searching for Pokemon

Use the search bar at the top of the Pokedex to quickly find Pokemon:

  • Type the full Pokemon name (e.g., "Pikachu")
  • Use partial names for fuzzy search (e.g., "pika" will find Pikachu)
  • Search is case-insensitive for your convenience

Exploring Pokemon Types

Navigate to the Types page to see all 18 Pokemon types. Each type card shows:

  • Type icon with characteristic color
  • Type name
  • Quick link to view all Pokemon of that type

Click "View Pokemon" on any type to filter the Pokedex and see only Pokemon of that type.

Managing Favorites

Save your favorite Pokemon for quick access:

  • Browse Pokemon and click the heart icon on cards you like
  • Visit the Favorites page to see all your saved Pokemon
  • Favorites are saved in your browser, so they persist between visits
  • Remove favorites by clicking the heart icon again

Viewing Pokemon Details

Click any Pokemon to see comprehensive information:

  • Base Stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed
  • Visual Stats Bars: Easy-to-read progress bars for each stat
  • Physical Attributes: Height and weight
  • Types: All types the Pokemon belongs to
  • Abilities: Special abilities the Pokemon can have

Visit the News page to stay informed about:

  • New Pokemon discoveries and announcements
  • Special events and community days
  • Game updates and releases
  • Pokemon championship and esports news
